    Description

For sale as a lot is a Lionel No. 352 Icing Station with its associated Pacific Fruit Express (PFE) car No. 63521. Overall, they are both in very good condition. Please view all the digital camera photos using zoom mode and make your own assessment as to condition when bidding.
    Condition and Operability Notes:
    No. 352 Icing Station:
    1)  The blue ice man figure is missing the paddle needed to move the ice blocks; two original (I believe) loose plastic ice blocks
    (not shown) are
    included in the sale.
    2)  The plastic parts are in good condition with no broken or missing pieces. There are some minor scratches and some small black marks on some of the pieces although I was able to remove several marks through careful cleaning.  As seen at the bottom of photo No. 9, there is a small crack in the plastic where the metal screw connects the plastic frame to the metal base plate; given this is a high stress area, it's not unexpected there would be a crack after 60+ years. As seen in the last photo, one side of the ice house has some slight discoloration as well as slight deformation/abrasion of the plastic. I have no idea what caused this years ago. The metal screw (see Photo No. 10) that holds the ice house to the top of the station may or may not be original.
    3) The metal base plate, as seen in the photos, has some scratches and numerous small spots where the base metal is exposed; however, there is no significant rust.
    4)
    I
connected the icing station electrical terminals to the output of my Lionel ZW transformer along with a switch (NOT included). With the voltage output set at about 11-12 volts, I activated the switch and the solenoid energized causing the ice man figure to move in a full arc. I would note the movement was quite rapid, almost instantaneous; I don't know if this is normal or was the result of not having the ice paddle attached and no plastic ice block present. Obliviously the solenoid is operable, however, the actuation speed will need to be adjusted as I do not know how to do this.
    No. 63521 PFE Car
    :
The car is in excellent condition with no missing or broken/cracked parts.  There are some minor scratches on the plastic and some very small areas with light black smudges. I tried removing the smudges using a damp cloth to no effect. They may be removable with stronger methods that I'm not willing to try as I don't want to damage the plastic.
The icing station and car are sold AS IS as shown in the photos and as described above.  No returns accepted or refunds provided.  Again, view the photos closely and read the description if bidding.  The items seen in the photos are exactly what you will receive as these are not stock photos. If you have questions or need more photos, please contact me as I'll be glad to respond.
The station and car will ship together as a USPS Priority Mail Package which provides tracking.  Insurance coverage equal to the purchase price will be provided. Both items will be placed in a sturdy cardboard box and the ice house and chute plastic pieces will be disassembled and placed in their own box inside the sturdy box in order to help ensure they do not break during shipment. Overall shipment weight is about 4.5 pounds.
