Conn Connquest Cornet Ser#L86605 Plays and Needs an Adjustment
We are cleaning out the back of our warehouse - this is being sold in as is playing condition.  Pictured is the actual item you will get so please look at the pictures closely.
This cornet plays in its current condition and has a big classic Conn sound!  It does need some adjustments to be in top playing condition.  The bell is tipped down slightly which stops the third valve tuning slide from being able to extend as the water key gets stopped by the rim of the bell.  The lead pipe and mouthpiece receiver needs to be re-soldered (see pics) The mouthpiece receiver is able to be freely pulled off of the lead pipe and the brace is disconnected so there is nothing keeping it stable on the lead pipe.  Overall the instrument is in good condition.  There is no broken metal on the horn and nothing has been totally crushed or twisted.  It has a really great sound and it will make for a really nice vintage cornet! It has 75-80% of the lacquer finish remaining with medium player wear.  All of the valves are in good working condition and some of the tuning slides are stuck.  The case it comes in is in older used condition (Still usable but significant signs of physical wear) likely original with a light funk to it and the foam is starting to break down a little bit on the inside. Engraved on the bell is "Conn U.S.A." with marching men and shooting stars with "Connquest" engraved on the mouthpiece receiver.

Damage during Outbound Shipping: In the unfortunate chance your item is damaged, the following procedure must be followed exactly in order to process a refund. Failure to comply with the following procedures constitutes a violation of the return policy and therefore a refund will not be given. Please contact us immediately. Save everything, including the box, packing materials, and shipping label. Without the original box and packing materials, a claim cannot be made, and a refund will not be issued. Take a full set of pictures so the damage can be assessed. Don’t send anything back yet until we contact our insurance company.  We will tell you when you may ship the item back.  Please see instructions for return shipping below. If it is determined that the item was damaged in shipping, we will send you a return shipping label via eBay Messages.  Refunds will not be issued for merchandise, which has been damaged while in your possession.

Damage during Return Shipping:  The item will be inspected upon return and if the item is damaged during return shipping, we will contact you so you can file an insurance claim.  Because you are the shipper, we cannot initiate a claim.  Depending upon how much damage was sustained you may only get a partial refund or no refund due to the damage.

Please use the original packing material and box.  Please use original packing material inside the case around the item.  Also use the original packing material around the case in the box to protect the item from shipping damage. If your item does not have a case, please use all packing material that the item came with to protect the item from shipping damage.

Uninsured packages or items shipped “COD” or “Shipping Due” will be refused and a refund will not be issued.

Once the item is received, we will conduct a physical inspection. This inspection will determine your eligibility for a refund.
