    Description

    I got this item from a auction.   I do not know a lot about it.   I saw the instrument  was engraved. "USN".   If only this cornet could talk.   Was it on a Battleship or an Aircraft Carrier?    Maybe it was played for a President on the White House Lawn.   I was in the Navy and I know these types of instrument where found on large ships.   Some had bands.  On Dec. 7, 1941 the ship band on the USS Arizona was playing when the Japanese attack.  There a lot of history here.  I think this belong in a Naval Museum.     Ask any questions.
